Love from MLK in February

February is the month to celebrate love. Lately, when I think of love, I think of Martin Luther King Jr. and his phenomenal book, Strength to Love. It just might be the most amazing book I have ever read. For the month of February, I’d like to share love by sharing quotes from this fantastic book, hoping we can allow the transforming words of this amazing man to encourage us and challenge us. Let us have his same strength to love.

“This hour in history needs a dedicated circle of transformed nonconformists. Our planet teeters on the brink of atomic annihilation; dangerous passions of pride, hatred, and selfishness are enthroned in our lives; truth lies prostrate on the rugged hills of nameless calvaries; and men do reverence before false gods of nationalism and materialism. The saving of our world from pending doom will come, not through the complacent adjustment of the conforming majority, but through the creative maladjustment of a nonconforming minority.” -from Transformed Nonconformist, pg. 18
